The recording of network cameras has been a great challenge up to now. It was necessary to install a special software onto a PC. This software used to operate with one type of camera or one manufacturer only. The new network video recorders (NVR) now allow for a more simplified way of operating.
These products come almost ready to use. Only the required hard disks have to be installed in order for the NVRs to be able to record signals of several hundred different types of camera. After installation, many camera types are going to be recognised automatically, if they support UPnP. The perfect setting can individually be chosen for each camera type. The NVR recorders can conveniently be accessed from any PC workstation via a web interface. Thus, the advantages of the network technology can perfectly be utilised.
Two or four hard disks with a total recording capacity of up to 6 TB (12 TB) allow for a long-term recording even with high-resolution network cameras. It is also possible to use the RAID functions in order to reflect the recorded data and to store these, even in case of a hard disk failure.
As an operating system, the NVR features an embedded Linux instead of the conventional software package. Thus, the NVR provides an excellent operating reliability. For example, the recorder will start automatically after a power failure without having to restart the prograммe.
Beside the standard features like time/date search and alarm search, the efficient integrated recording software also offers new smart search features. This allows for a specific search for removed or added items.
Thus, the NVRs ideally represent the efficient central element of a network-based video surveillance.

Efficient Control Centres for Network-based Video Surveillance
With the network video recorders of the PROJECT Line NWR series, it is now possible to easily and reliably record images from network cameras. A special PC software is not required. You only have to install the required hard disks. After installation, the recorders are ready for use and can record streams from different types of camera via ONVIF. It is also possible to select the perfect setting for each type of camera individually. The NWR recorders can conveniently be accessed from any PC workstation via a remote access software (in the scope of delivery) or from a monitor via an HDMI/VGA output.

Four hard disks with a recording capacity of up to 6 TB (NWR-3216POE, NWR-1608POE) or a HDD with up to 8 TB (NWR-801POE) in total are available at option and allow for recording high-resolution network cameras over a long period of time.
